Tasteful Tuesday: Chocolate Peanut Pie

Every summer my family takes a vacation to the Outer Banks. We've been going there for over 20 years and each time, we make sure to stop at the Tale of the Whale restaurant in Nags Head, NC for some fresh seafood, drinks on the sound, and live music.

I'm a huge dessert freak and once I tried this frozen pie... well, I'll leave that one up to you.

Yes, I know it's the middle of January, but since it has been such a warm winter for most of us on the East Coast, why not have a little frozen treat? And what's better than chocolate and peanut butter combined?

Here we go!

4oz. softened cream cheese
1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup milk
9oz cool whip
1 9" oreo cookie crust
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

Whip cream cheese until soft and fluffy. Beat in sugar and peanut butter. Slowly add milk. Add in melted chocolate chips. Fold in cool whip. Pour into oreo pie crust. Sprinkle with crushed chocolate chips, shaved chocolate pieces, or drizzle with a bit of chocolate syrup. Freeze until firm. Keep in freezer until all the deliciousness is gone. Then make more.
